Great Lakes Resort - Big House - Suite 14

Our family stayed in the Big House over the weekend for my daughter’s wedding nearby and wish we’d had more time to spend at the resort! Check in was easy even though there isn’t an official office onsite, because Moe or his staff emailed all the necessary instructions in advance. We had plenty of room for our family to spread out, and laughed when my 7-year-old granddaughter claimed the largest bedroom for herself! Every room in the sprawling house was clean and well organized. Knowing the house included all the basic amenities lessened our burden of bringing everything else needed for the wedding. We had a chance to chat with the owner one day, and it’s clear how much effort is being made into upgrading the entire place towards a great family vacation spot. Our relatives have had cottages in Lexington for decades, and we remember the original old motel from years gone by. Now, the beach areas are nicely outfitted with plenty of tables, chairs and sun protection. The area with the outdoor games and volleyball/basketball/pickleball courts look new and well maintained, and the game room/arcade has lots of entertainment options for all ages. Unfortunately, we never had time to check it all out. We would definitely go back with family again, this time trying one of the many other cabins available. The location is prime beach property with beautiful views right on Lake Huron, and close to downtown restaurants and shops.

Stayed with a Mom friend and mine and our combined 6 children in the big house. We had room for more to join us. It was clean the beach was lovely the activities endless we will be back!!

The big house was quite comfortable for three generations. The room off the kitchen gave us the extra room needed for everyone!

We recently stayed at this residence and were extremely happy with the location, the amenities, and the welcoming feel we received from the hosts. Their game room was so much fun that we spent most days in there with our children having a blast. Even with the cold weather, it was worth the stay. My kids want us to book again in the summer to enjoy the many summer amenities they offer. I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone looking to get away but still have fun things to do without having to leave the house.
