Great Lakes Resort - Family Suite - Suite 1

I've traveled my fair share - and this was by far the cleanest accomodation I have ever had - even from The Drake in Chicago. I loved the set up of two bedrooms, each with it's own bath and shower - and the kitchen/living room in between. It just worked great for our time in the area. Having never been on that side of the state I had a number of questions - ALL of which were answered in a very short time by the owner. We were offered any assistance in recommondations of things to do and places to see in the area. To top it all off - the view of Lake Huron was beautiful, and the property was one of the cleanest I've seen. They had a game room, paddle boards, and kayaks to rent. Overall, just an awesome place to stay. Enjoy - we sure did.

We spent two nights in Family Suite 1 at Great Lakes Resort.it was close by the sports area and had a huge fire pit, grill and seating just outside the door. We rented a Golf Cart to drive around the property too! The owner was super accommodating and provided great customer service! All check in and check out directions were clear. We only had to contact them when we decided to extend our stay! The room was spacious and clean! It had everything we would need including coffee and tea. Full size appliances in the kitchen and full size sink. The couch in the living area was quite comfy. The resort provided a good amount of extra bedding. Draped on the couch was a super soft throw blanket. The rooms were a good size. Each with full bath with shower stall. The coast line is quite rocky- so take water shoes. Plenty of seating near the beach. The water toys were a nice touch. Unfortunately we came in right after a storm, so the water was too choppy to enjoy. The game room was had a great set up. All in all- five stars.

Beautiful views! Not perfect but nice. Positive: The views were beautiful. The water was beautiful! The suit was nice. Negative: We were not warned about needing water shoes until right before the trip and were not told how rocky the beach area was beforehand. The beach area was very small. Beautiful, but small area with tons of big rocks in the water all the way out. I wish I had known or been prepared. The pull out sofa bed was not comfortable at all and we had to put it back together and just sleep on the couch. Very worn out. Only one pot in one pan and they were very worn out and scraped up. I had to clean the outside grill before I could use it because it was so filthy.
